1. Start at the beginning. Putting together the puzzle is much easier if you already have some of the pieces together to begin with. Start with yourself and your immediate family and work from there.

5. Focus on holes in pedigree chart. Then fill them with information
6. Share with others, and they will share with you. Use your Research Log. You might be surprised to see others that are researching the same families you are!
7. Join a Genealogy Research Group or Society.
8. Attend conferences or workshops when able. (Look for workshops and user groups at your local library, and use the internet.)
9. Attend you family reunions, or suggest them.
