Restraining orders are almost always granted upon reasonable request if the subject-person does not show up to present evidence and arguments in his own behalf. So, it was an automatic thing. Just schedule another hearing. You will need to file a petition (or motion) with the court. So, hiring a lawyer is good, but you can do it yourself. Ask the Clerk of Courts at your courthouse if they have a form for restraining order cases. If not, you can probably find out how to do it from the internet.
