The Federal Emergency Management Association will tentatively update the Acworth flood maps in December of this year. These updated maps will show the 100 year flood levels of Acworth’s creeks, lakes and ponds much more accurately and in much greater detail than ever before. Some homes and properties that have previously been shown to be out of the 100 year flood plain will now be identified as lying within in the flood plain and may be required flood insurance depending on the polices of the underwriting mortgage company.
